Swimwear and shorts season is approaching rapidly as the weather warms up. If you have become self-conscious about visible varicose veins and spider veins, The Cosmetic Concierge has the solutions you seek. Our simple in-office procedure can restore your appearance and alleviate the cramping, burning and aching sensations that commonly coincide with these conditions.
What is Sclerotherapy?
This minimally invasive procedure is used to remove spider veins and varicose veins. A treatment solution is directly injected into the affected area with a thin needle causing the veins to shrink, collapse and disappear over time. This is a simple outpatient procedure typically completed in less than an hour.
What to Expect
Clients may feel tiny needle pricks and a mild burning sensation as the medicine is injected. Many clients resolve all issues with a single treatment, while some may require multiple visits depending on the severity and size of their veins. Some larger varicose veins may become hard or lumpy prior to resolving in a few months. Most red areas from the injection sites will disappear within a few days of healing. For some clients, bruising will appear around the injection site and last for a few days up to a few weeks. The majority of veins respond to Sclerotherapy in 3 to 6 weeks, while larger veins may take up to 3 or 4 months. Veins that respond will not reappear. New veins may be addressed with additional treatments.
Phlebectomy Treatment for Varicose Veins
A surgical method of removing varicose veins from the surface is known as ambulatory Phlebectomy. This procedure is typically completed under local anaesthesia in-office. The area around the vein clusters are inundated with anaesthetic fluid. Next, a tiny needle is utilized to make a puncture next to the vein. A minute hook is inserted to grasp and remove the vein. Imperceptible scars are all that is left after a successful treatment.
